Our own candidates forum has been postponed. But I hope VOICE-Buffalo members and friends will attend another candidates forum, on Tuesday, August 28, 7:00 pm, Unity Church (1243 Delaware Ave). This will focus on one of our major issues--the casino--and is sponsored by one of our allies, Citizens Against Casino Gambling in Erie County.

Candidates for Buffalo Common Council Member and for Erie County Legislator will present their views on casino gambling and other issues and, as time allows, answer questions from the audience.
Free and open to the public. ~
Light refreshments will be served.

CACGEC co-president Joel Rose writes: So far we have eight candidates who have indicated their intent to participate, and there are many we haven't heard from yet. It should be a lively evening. We've had these events several times in the past, and they've always been a great success, but it's very important to do everything we can to maximize turnout.

Citizens Against Casino Gambling in Erie County hosted a candidates'
night on Tuesday, August 28, at 7 p.m., at Unity Church, 1243 Delaware
Avenue in Buffalo. Park in back of the church and enter through the
front. The forum will take place in the sanctuary.
Candidates for Buffalo Common Council Member and for Erie County
Legislator will be on hand to discuss their views on casino gambling
and other issues. As time allows, questions from the audience will be
put to the candidates.
Following the forum, refreshments were served downstairs.
